My Favourite Films

Moulin Rogue:
Who doesn't love a cheesy musical that makes being a courtesan look glamorous?  I'm a hopeless romantic and adore the storyline to Moulin Rogue.  Baz Luhrmann's interpretation of the Bohemian lifestyle and the way the setting changes along with Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman's relationship is portrayed with amazing creativity which makes it a good film to look at as well as to watch.

Philadelphia:
Tom Hanks in this film is AMAZING.  Even though it makes me cry, I can't help but watch it again - that's the sign of a good film.  Especially for its time, the portrayal of the characters and people's attitudes towards homosexuality and AIDS was fantastic.  My favourite scene in it has to be where he's playing the opera music; it's so moving, yet so simple.
