Yesterday we got all the filming done at my house. We may still need to do some in a hallway (our location that we were thinking of using is not suitable anymore so we're still on the look out for a different place or whether we can work around with what we've got).
Changes to the filming:
- Characters are now just Shaun and George
- Plot slightly different in order to cut some of the dialogue (we felt it made the beginning too complicated and not set enough of an enigma)
- Shot are predominantly CUs to capture intensity of character's emotions
In order to capture a 'film noir' atmosphere, we closed the curtains/blinds/doors to shut out the majority of daylight. There was, however, light still peering through gaps in curtains etc. but we could not change this. To work around this, we decided to use brighter lighting in areas to draw focus to a particular area in the frame. When coming to edit the image of the film itself, we will play around with the contrast to further emphasise these areas if necessary.
